Kriket klub Škofja Loka · Est. 2004
We help young people discover cricket and build skills, confidence and friendships through the game. We play in the Slovene T20 League at Valburga, welcome touring teams from abroad, and are always glad to see new players.
The club
Kriket klub Škofja Loka is a registered sports society run by its members. Players from Slovenia and many other countries train and play together, and new members are always welcome.
We are a member club of the Slovene Cricket Association, the governing body of cricket in Slovenia. The SCA has been an Associate Member of the International Cricket Council since 2005 and a member of the Olympic Committee of Slovenia since 2025.
The SCA runs the Slovene T20 League, the national teams and the league rules we play under.

Since 2004 the club has been crowned Slovenian champion several times, brought cricket to young people in schools and at the club, and grown into an international squad that welcomes teams from around the world.
Kriket klub Škofja Loka was founded in 2004, with Stephen Mayland as its first president.
Over the years the club has won the Slovenian championship several times and played at international tournaments, including the Velden Sixes in Austria.
Young people have always been at the heart of the club. Many players first met cricket at local schools such as OŠ Železniki and Gimnazija Škofja Loka, and youth activities remain part of club life today.
Today the club brings together players from Slovenia and many other countries. It plays in the Slovene T20 League, hosts touring teams at Valburga and runs the Erasmus+ Sport project Kriket brez meja.
The club welcomes Craigengower CC from Hong Kong and Maids Moreton CC from England to Valburga.
31 players register for the Slovene T20 League.
Kriket brez meja, the club's first Erasmus+ Sport project, starts its twelve-month run with a focus on youth cricket.
Muhammad Shahid Arshad becomes club president, and the club is registered in Ljubljana.
Members add coaching courses, sponsorship and match-day hospitality to the club's activities.
The founding assembly adopts the club rules on 25 October, and the club is registered on 7 December 2004.

Youth cricket
Youth cricket has been part of club life for years and it continues today. We introduce children and teenagers to the game at schools and at the club, and young players train alongside our league squad.
Our Erasmus+ project Kriket brez meja is focused on growing youth cricket in Slovenia.
Generations of young players have learned the game with the club, many of them after first meeting cricket at local schools such as OŠ Železniki and Gimnazija Škofja Loka.
Young players can grow from a first session to a place in our Slovene T20 League squad.

Our Erasmus+ mobility project for sport staff. Club coaches and volunteers spend a week with a partner club in Istanbul, learning how they coach, include new players and run the club, and then use what they learn to grow youth cricket in Slovenia.
After the visit, the team will share a new training plan, a pilot outreach programme and a pack of lessons learned with members and the Slovenian cricket community.
